- First and last name or initials
- Mailing Address
- Telephone number
- E-mail address
- Sobriety date
- Home Group
- Other personal data that you actively provide, for example by creating a profile on this website, by corresponding or phoning us, or by accepting a service position:
- Store Account: The Online Store saves your name, email address, and phone/fax numbers when you create an account. An account is required to (1) start the literature purchase checkout process, (2) register for an SA event, or (3) make an online donation to SA.
- Purchase Literature: To purchase literature online, your name, email address, mailing address, and phone number are collected.
- Registration: Online event registration collects your name, address, email address, phone number, fellowship, and optional sobriety/recovery date(s).
- Credit Card Information: Credit card information is temporarily collected for use with orders and online donations in the secure SA Online Store but, aside from the billing name and address, is not saved in any manner by the store. It is, however, retained by our credit card payment processor as part of the financial transaction.
Use of the SA Online Store for literature purchases, donations and event registrations is optional and voluntary. Also, you can browse the items in the store, and save them to a cart, without creating an account.
Printable forms for purchasing literature are provided on this website. They are voluntary, but if you use them, they require you to submit personally identifiable information, which may include: name, address, email address, and telephone number.
Special and / or sensitive personal data we process
SA processes the following special and / or sensitive personal data from you:
- The fact that you have sought help from SA for a problem with lust. This information is kept strictly confidential.
How We Use the Information
Online Store Account: Personally identifiable information saved as part of your account for the SA Online Store is used internally by the store itself to facilitate event registrations, donations and literature purchases. It may also be used when troubleshooting problems with orders or with the online store itself.
Literature Orders: Personally identifiable information submitted as part of online literature orders, or in printed forms submitted to SA, is used solely for the processing of that order and is kept strictly confidential. Information submitted on paper to SA Publications, a separate organization, is governed by their privacy policy and is not used by SA.
Event Registrations: Personally identifiable information submitted as part of an online registration is used to register you for an event and allow staff and service committees to perform the necessary tasks and planning that they need to do in order to run the event. In addition, we may use some of your information, such as meal choice, fellowship, and the state you live in to generate statistics regarding online registrations—your name, address, email, and phone number will not be used for this purpose. The information may also be used when testing the online store or when troubleshooting problems with registrations, orders, or with the online store itself.
Credit Card Information: Credit card information is used internally by the Online Store to process payments.
Automated decision-making
SA does not make decisions based on automated processing on matters that can have (significant) consequences for people. This concerns decisions taken by computer programs or systems, without involving a person (for example an employee of SA).
